Nathaniel Energy's Proprietary Technologies

Thermal Gasifier

Nathaniel owns the patents to an environmentally-friendly technology that will be very important in providing a cleaner world in the future. The technology is called a Thermal Gasifier, and it is used to burn used tires, residential and commercial trash, and many other forms of problem waste that would otherwise end up in a land-fill.

Technology

Thermal Gasification technology allows problem waste to be burned without any harmful releases of gases, smoke, or other hazardous toxins and meets or exceeds the emission standards of the EPA and the European Union. The technology achieves this via a proprietary process in which waste is burned at extremely high temperatures; the temperatures are so high that virtually all hazardous pollutants are destroyed. Any acid gases or particulates remaining after gasification are gathered through additional processes such that the final exhaust gas has only trace levels of pollutants.

Products

The gasification process produces many useful and profitable products other than the obvious benefit of environmentally friendly waste disposal. Some of the outputs of the gasification process include:

  • Electrical energy
  • Thermal energy (waste heat)
  • High grade carbon dioxide (CO2)
  • High grade carbon black
  • Ash

Primary Markets

The market opportunities for Thermal Gasification technology are virtually limitless simply because two of the primary outputs of the process are eletrical and thermal energy. However, this cogeneration technology (electrical and thermal energy together) is an ideal solution for specific markets in which most or even all of the outputs of the Thermal Gasifier are utilized onsite. Some of these markets are:

  • commercial greenhouses
  • cement plants, and
  • manufacturing plants

Commercial Greenhouses

Greenhouses are an ideal application for the Thermal Gasifier because they use some electricity, all of the thermal energy (to regulate the atmospheric temperature in the greenhouse), and a large part of the CO2 (to enhance growth of the produce). Nathaniel's technology can reduce operating costs by 15% and increase production by 20% or more. Much of the increase in production is due to larger and heavier produce (usually tomatoes)

Cement Plants

Cement plants use large amounts of electricity, some of the waste heat, and all of the bottom ash produced. Cement facilities could save substantially on electricity costs, especially on peak power needs, and on kiln heat needs.

Manufacturing Plants

Most manufacturing plants produce an inordinate amount of waste needing disposal and also rely heavily on electrical energy with highly variable costs. The Nathaniel Thermal Gasifier helps these manufacturers save on electricity, heating and cooling, and on waste disposal fees.

By-product Markets

Thermal Gasification by-products, including carbon black and carbon dioxide, can be sold into several different markets:

Carbon Black

  • Tire Manufacturers
  • Cosmetics Companies

Carbon Dioxide

  • Carbonated Beverage Producers
  • Industrial markets

Nathaniel currently has a facility in operation near Hutchins, Texas that collects used tires for a fee (called a "tipping fee") and then shreds and processes the tires using patented methods. The processed tires are then sold to local municipalities and commercial customers as a low-cost fuel. This sort of tire processing facility is the perfect complement to the Thermal Gasifier.
